Description

Description: Translation is seen as a passion, a life calling, a business startup, an industry, a showcase for our knowledge of and delight in languages, but it is seldom discussed in terms of what it actually is: writing in two languages.

During an approximately 2-hour presentation with some exercises, Mr. Chávez will make the case for writing competence for Spanish translators in a variety of modes, including printed text, websites, movies, video tutorials and social media. At the center of this presentation, the challenge will be “Do you have enough writing competence to be a translator?” The level is intermediate to advanced. Prepare to be challenged.
